MICHAEL H. ACKERMAN, DNS, RN, APRN-BC,
FCCM, FNAP, FAANP
Now more than ever nurse practitioners need to join forces to create
change in health care and advocate for patients as well as the
profession. I feel I have the leadership skills to lead the
NPAGR. I am very anxious to become more involved in the
professional group at this very exciting time in health care. I
would be thankful and thrilled to be considered for the President Elect
role.

2. Candidate for Treasurer:
Laura Markwick, MSN, RN, FNP-C
I have been serving as Nominations Committee Chair for the past year
and have been a member of the NPAGR for the past three years. During
this time, I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of such an active
organization that promotes and supports nurse practitioners. I feel I
have the skills necessary to take on the position of Treasurer as I am
currently the Treasurer for Cub Scout Pack 341 in Pittsford and have
held this office for four years. I would be honored to be selected for
the position of Treasurer and help this organization continue its
mission.

3. Candidate for Nomination
Chair:
Jane I. Tuttle, PHD, APRN, BC, FNP, CPNP
If elected, I am committed to serve the Greater Rochester Chapter of
The NPA (NPAGR) as nominating committee chair for a two year term
beginning in January, 2010. I have been on the NPAGR board for several
years in a variety of roles including president, government relations
chair, and nominating committee chair. While I have been on the faculty
of the UR School of Nursing, my networking extends to other agencies in
the community. The connections that I have developed over several years
should prove to be very useful in bringing in new leadership to NPAGR.
There has never before been a more critical time for NPs to work
together to assure access to care for all people. I look forward to
continuing in a leadership role with NPAGR.
